Post reblogged from Lord Vader

Question

lordxvader:

Someone please explain this ‘meta gaming’ thing.

If Vader was to read the mind of an opponent or use the Force to see the future, is that meta? Even if it’s an established, canon trait he has?

[[It could be meta-gaming or not. It would be great to say there is mind reading in the “About the Muse” section on your blog. Mind reading as a trope has to be descriptive and well-written. Without the tropism descriptors, it’s seen as puppeteering — forcing moves on a character you can’t control, not meta-gaming using personal information and bringing it publicly. For it to be well-written action, it requires a plot, which is hard to do. You have to plot with another character and agree that will happen. When you spontaneously RP it is difficult to enact the trope of mind-reading. Vader cannot predict everything, as we all know, but it’s well known he mind reads a lot of people and Force Subjugates them. There are only a few select character that Vader cannot mind-read and it is not known why he doesn’t do it: i.e. not Qui-Gon Jinn, Shmi, the Emperor, Yoda, and maybe Obi-Wan Kenobi — but by the time he did read Obi-Wan’s mind, Obi-Wan did not care (A master of evil, Darth). Then there are gradations of a Vader Mind Read and Force Subjugation. That gets defined by you, the MUN. Hope this helps.]]

Quote reblogged from who the hell is bucky?

. If your people want to fight the Yuuzhan Vong, why not join the Defense Force? Train with the other soldiers, accept promotion on the same basis as other soldiers, and accept the same penalties for derogation of duty as other soldiers. As it is, the Jedi expect special privileges, and the regular officers have every right to resent them.
